Description
The Dassault Mirage 2000 is a French-built multirole fighter that entered service in the early 1980s. Initially developed as a single-seat aircraft optimized for air superiority and interception missions, it later evolved into the Mirage 2000D variant, specifically designed for ground attack and low-altitude penetration missions. Entering service with the French Armée de l’Air, the Mirage 2000D retained the signature delta-wing aerodynamic configuration of the Mirage 2000 but featured a two-seat layout, with a pilot and a weapons systems officer responsible for target acquisition and weapon management.


The aircraft has been deployed in various operational theatres, including Libya and Afghanistan. Capable of carrying a diverse offensive payload for a wide range of mission profiles, the Mirage 2000D has undergone continuous avionics and electronic upgrades to extend its operational lifespan.
